CHAPTER SEVEN

“Devin, I want you to make sure you call me if you have any trouble out there. Eric should give you all the help you need when you get there. He doesn’t know what your real purpose is for being there, he thinks you area a Navy Seal and are on a mission for the government.” Isaac advised.

Devin listened closely to Isaac about this mission because it was his first out of the country. After Devin left St. Louis, he met up with Isaac to go over the final details. Isaac was dropping Devin off at the airport, when he looked into Isaac’s eyes and saw something he had never seen before.

“Isaac, are you okay? You seem kind of tense.” Devin asked.

“I’m alright son, just want you to be careful and most importantly, I want you to finish your mission.”

Devin understood, to Isaac he was a machine that killed whoever paid a nice ticket. Devin decided then that he would have a talk with Isaac about getting out of the game once he came back from Colombia. Devin gave Isaac a handshake then got out of the car and headed to the airport terminal. As Isaac watched Devin walk to into the airport, he thought about the irony of how he met him and how he now employed him. Isaac always kept watch over Devin, he cared for him to an extent, but he also had a dark secret that if it ever got out could change everyone’s life forever.

Isaac knew that Devin was good and Papa Juan was as good as dead once Devin got through with him. Once the job was done, he would never have to worry about his secret being exposed. He hoped Devin didn’t have any thoughts of settling down anytime soon, because he was getting close the Portia. Once a man in his ling of work started having feelings, it could cost him his life. Isaac drove off and wondered if he would ever have to shut Devin down permanently; he hoped not, but if that time ever came Devin would never see it coming.
